Today has been unreal. Seriously unreal.
1) My interview with the Lethbridge Journal was printed in the publication and distributed today.
2) Today was national print competition and all five of my entries made it through. I was going between pacing the floor and dancing within minutes. The PPOC (Professional Photographers of Canada) were live streaming it, so I was sitting in my kitchen in my jammies watching the amazing images and the critiques all day. I LOVE print competition. I learn loads of stuff. I will find out in later April if any of my entries produce more hardware (trophies)...but I'm so satisfied with what was accomplished today!
3) My friend Aaron and I were featured as artists with our landscape work in a local art gallery (Wall Decor and More - here in Lethbridge). We had family members, friends and clients come out to see us. We had beautiful guitar music and delicious food to make that event a little slice of right-brained heaven for me. It was fun to show the work we have been spending so much time and personally sacrificing sleep to bring to the public. We made new friends and connected with other local artists.
4) I got the news during that event that we got a $500 backer to our kickstarter project. See: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1744495898/waterton-park-18-month-photo-calendar this is a project that we care so much about and have invested so much into and to see others care too, is so rewarding. (Ever heard of crowd-funding or Angel funding? that is what Kickstarter is - a site where lots of people can donate to creative projects to help them be funded. There are rewards available, so you get to receive from it as well. Go to my kickstarter link above for more information - and funding, if you'd like to help.)
5) THEN, I got another e-mail when I got home notifying me that someone had backed our project to the tune of $2,000!!! Woa! This project has been live for just a few days and it is 60% backed. I am so humbled and speechless. I am grateful.
I am so grateful for the network of family, friends, and client-friends that I have. I don't just have clients...they are friends. I fall in love with them and tuck them into my heart. It's just how I roll. :-)
I am grateful for today. I'm grateful to be able to bring the beauty of the world to everyone. I'm grateful for every person who has entered my world and left a thread in the tapestry that is my life. I have an abundant life in every non-monetarily-speaking-but-stuff-that-truly-counts-way possible.
