Being a mother is the most important role I have been privileged to have. Being the matriarch of a family does not come to me lightly. It took a few years to be able to start having kids in the first place.
Now that I'm at the end of corralling minor children and they are all grown up, I have profound nostalgia for their childhood that their father and I provided. What amazing (wonderful, hard, busy, exhausting, joyful) years they were.
These images are just a few of the images I took of my youngest son as he grew. I became a professional photographer when he was 1 year old. He spent his whole life in front of my lens. (His older sister was 7 and his older brother was 5 when I began my photography business.)
My wonderful children had their childhood displayed through the odyssey of film, then digital storytelling as I refined my photography skills. Now my kids are grown and these images are absolutely precious to me; an exhibit of memories, relationships, love and passing time.
It is worth it to make sure your family is regularly photographed. These images will outlive you and will be a witness of your love, life and time to future generations.
