Friends, it snowed again. When it snows during daylight hours at times when I'm home, I do a little glance on the kind of snow that is falling. When the snowflakes are like snow-dust, there isn't a whole bunch of crystalline shapes to be found. When the snowflakes appear too big, the snowflakes are usually a bunch of smaller snowflakes falling together. When the snowflakes aren't too big or too little, they have the best visual character, it is the best time to photograph them.
Today we got character snowflakes, which means I got more time to practice. I stayed out a little too long in the breezy -11 C temperature because I was so focused on capturing these little beauties.
I'm still practicing. With the magnification I am able to achieve, the depth of focus is soooo shallow. I will have to figure out a way to focus-stack with my hand-held set up. While I figure that out, I will take every opportunity I can to practice.
Aren't snowflakes gorgeous?
