As the previous post talks about, I'm into wellness and I usually suggest to people the concept that wellness starts from the neck down. Your brain is part of your body, and if your brain is not nutritionally supported, it is going to reflect in potential mood, reactionary, and behavioural issues that might also contribute to decompensation of the balance of your responsibilities or relationships. Nutritional Psychiatry is a new science that has piqued my interest of late. If you are in any kind of mental, physical or substance recovery, it cannot hurt to make sure your nutrition is intact.
These two images were part of my reach to become an accredited food photographer. I entered the fruits and vegetable image (rainbow), and did not enter the processed/fried/junk food image. This journey of food accreditation was such a creative effort for me. Food is so beautiful, coupled with food styling, and this creative outlet knows no bounds. The process of growing, harvesting, or preparing food is also just as beautiful. The closer we are to the original state and source, the healthier it is.
These two images side-by-side shows the beauty of plant-based, whole foods. They are full of color and color signifies good chemicals and elements that support health and can contribute to warding off disease. It is easy to see the difference. When I purchased the food for the processed/fried/junk food image, I bought things that I almost never buy. Being a long-term vegetarian, I had no memory of walking into a KFC before, but I did it for one of these images.
For me, I've chosen a whole-foods, plant-based lifestyle (for the most part - sometimes you can't escape cheese.). I will probably dot this blog with more wellness principles from time to time.
I share some of my photos, health tips and own recipes on @earlingspantry on Instagram.
