I think it is safe to say that I love to learn new things. As primarily a wedding and family photographer, I like to try to learn, practice for, and get accredited in different genres of photography and stretch my photographic legs as much as I can. This widens the range of skills I can use to tell a wedding day story.
A wedding day is an event that invokes a lot of different skillsets to master telling the story.
Macro photography is a kind of photography that you can get 1:1 scale. Micro photography is when you can get closer than 1:1. I wanted to see if I could photograph something as small as snowflakes. It has taken me months to find the right combination of lenses to get enough magnification for a snowflake.
Then I had to wait for snow.
Today it snowed. I tried my most recent set-up of close magnification and I have the right magnification. I'm so excited.
There are yet a few more things to learn to master snowflakes (lighting is one).
Giving ourselves a challenge to meet helps to provide us meaning and purpose. Its good for us.
Aren't snowflakes beautiful?
